John Stansfeld Ltd. started life in Leeds around 150 years ago selling ironmongery and timber products to the fast growing industrial sector.
Such was their standing within the community that when the technological miracle of telephony became available to Leeds you would simply dial "6" to get through to John Stansfelds (No. "1" was Leeds Town Hall)
John Stansfeld was established in 1857 selling Ironmongery and Timber products.
They eventually settled at numbers 12,14,16,18,20 & 22 Great George Street in Leeds.
